Israeli Prime Minister: Another attempt by Iran to commit terrorism – Mossad met with information from the Greek agencies

The revelations continue about the dismantling by EL.AS and EYP of the terrorist network that was planning attacks in Greece.

“The case that was revealed today in Greece is a serious matter that was successfully prevented by the Greek security forces,” says a statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office on behalf of the Mossad.

“It was a further attempt by Iran to commit terrorism against Israeli and Jewish targets abroad. After the investigation into the suspects began in Greece, the Mossad provided intelligence assistance to reveal its structure, working methods and connection to Iran. The investigation revealed that the structure operating in Greece is part of an extensive Iranian network run by Iran and spanning several countries. The Mossad, together with its partners in the community, is working tirelessly to prevent Iranian attack attempts around the world,” the statement also noted.

Israel’s Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, thanked the Greek authorities for cooperation, stressing that terrorism “is a common enemy and fighting it is our first priority”.

“The Ayatollah government in Tehran is exporting terrorism to the Middle East and the entire world, and only a firm and common stance will stop the terrorist activities of the Iranian state,” continued the Israeli Foreign Minister.
