The 47-year-old was found guilty of attempted murder in a calm state of mind
The 47-year-old man who brutally beat his 41-year-old partner in Argyroupoli in January 2022, who was hospitalized for two months in the intensive care unit with severe brain injuries, returns to prison, with a 10-year prison sentence imposed on him by the Mixed Jury Court.
The 47-year-old was found guilty of attempted manslaughter in a calm state of mind by the judges of the MOD who recognized the mitigating factor of good behavior after the act, but refused to grant a stay on his appeal.
The defendant’s guilt was also requested by the Prosecutor of the Headquarters, who mentioned, among other things, that the defendant hit his partner with enormous force. “It’s not the first time he extends his hand! It beats mercilessly! Mercilessly! She didn’t leave a mark on her body without hitting it! He had learned to neutralize the opponent” said the public prosecutor, requesting that the court not accept the psychiatric expert report presented by the 47-year-old, which refers to serious psychopathology, nor his claims about emotional stress
The defendant himself in his apology, after apologizing for his act, attributed the merciless beating of 41-year-old Olga to the use of alcohol and hashish he had made on the day in question and to his anger when the victim revealed to him that she had another relationship. “He was telling me that he had a thing with a common-law Albanian. I turn on her, stand up and slap her three times. I turn around and see her turned on her side and I was shocked. At first I thought he did it that way. I called “Olga Olga”. There was no blood. She stretches her arms and legs, they did not respond. I dialed 166 and it went to voicemail. I then immediately got my sister to call an ambulance,” said the 47-year-old.
