In dismantling a criminal groupwhose members are involved in jewelry store robbery and to thefts in Iliathe police proceeded, arresting three people, aged 53, 48 and 32 years respectively, who have concerned the authorities in the past for serious criminal offences.

In particular, according to the police, as part of a coordinated operation carried out this morning, in areas of Ilia, by police officers from the Ilias Security Department, together with police officers from the Pyrgos Security Department and the Narcotics Prosecution Department, with the assistance of EKAM and OPKE police officers Pyrgos and Patras, the three aforementioned men were arrested.

According to the police, as emerged from the investigations, the three arrested committed a robbery on March 3rd at a jewelry store in Ilia, from which they took jewelry with a total value of 100,000 euros, while in the last two months, they stole a car, a motorcycle and vehicle registration plates .

Regarding the methodology of the members of the criminal organization, according to the police, the defendants joined as members of an operationally structured criminal group, with the aim of committing armed robberies.

What did the investigations find?

In searches carried out by the police in a rented apartment in the area of ​​Ilia, where the three arrested lived, they found, among other things, two pistols and two magazines, 21 cartridges, three firearm casings, various jewelry, a car, which has been reported stolen and which brought stolen license plates, license plates, which have been reported stolen, a motorcycle, which has been reported stolen, three full face hoods, as well as a container filled with gasoline.

At the same time, in an investigation carried out in another room in the rented apartments, where the three members of the criminal group lived, two more men, aged 29 and 24 respectively, were arrested.

In this particular room, a pistol with a magazine, 33 cartridges, 15 grams of raw dried cannabis, 10.5 grams of methamphetamine and an electronic precision scale were found.

Those arrested will be taken to the prosecutor of Amaliadas, while the police continue investigations into the case.
