An appeal to all of us to help deal with the pandemic was addressed by Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece Mr. Jerome speaking to reporters shortly after Sequence of the Great Sanctification at the Metropolitan Church of Athens.
On the occasion of today, the Archbishop pointed out: “It was a beautiful service, solemn, but we wish our next holidays to be without these difficulties in terms of health” and underlined: “I would like to emphasize at this time, to hear the voice of both the State and the Church and those who have not been vaccinated to rush to get the vaccine, because it turns out every day that the vaccine is the only wall against this disease. Those who are sick today if they have been vaccinated pass more easily, while those who have not been vaccinated are flooding the hospitals and soon we will have an explosion in the health problem of the country. That is why we must all help, in order to face, this difficult time, the pandemic and to be able to say that today will be the last day that we celebrate in this way “.
