Aflatoxin B1 and sum of aflatoxins were detected at concentrations exceeding the upper legislative limits

In particular, E.F.E.T. was informed through the Early Warning System for Food and Feed (RASFF), about the distribution by the Belgian company “Kim’s Chocolates NV” on the Greek market of organic chocolates for the preparation of which the first material (almonds) in which aflatoxin B1 was detected was used and sum of aflatoxins in concentrations exceeding the upper legislative limits.
Specifically, it concerns the following products: A) “DARK ALMOND CHOCOLATE 72% COCOA” with the trade name “CACHET” in a package of 100g, with batch number 22343 and minimum shelf life date 09/03/2024 with an indicative photo:
B) “DARK CHERRY ALMOND CHOCOLATE 57% COCOA” with the trade name “CACHET” in a 100g package, with batch number 22302 and a best before date of 29/01/2024 with an indicative photo:
The E.F.E.T. requested the recall/withdrawal of the specific batches of the above products and the relevant controls are in progress. Consumers who have purchased the above products are requested not to consume them
