The Municipality of Athens continues the implementation of the largest asphalt paving project in the center and the neighborhoods of the city, to improve the capital’s infrastructure. The program, with a budget of 42 million euros, strengthens road safety and upgrades a total of 1050 roads in the city, i.e. more than 300 kilometers out of the approximately 1000 of its total road network.
Since the start of the project, the municipality of Athens has completed asphalt paving on 834 roads with a total length of approximately 260 kilometers in all seven Municipal Communities of Athens. In the last period of time, the people of the Municipality are working in the neighborhoods of the 6th Municipal Community, while the focus of the interventions are the areas of Kypseli, Nea Kypseli, Agios Panteleimonas, Amerikis Square and Attica Square.
Until today, the technical crews have poured new asphalt on the streets: Spetson, Moshonission, Stavropoulou, Neof. Metaxas, Bion, Evelpidon, Velvendos, Iulianos, Giannitsa, Lazarados, Corfu, Philippidou, Nicosia, Cyprus, Tinos, Kaukasos, Ernesto Kourtiou, Sparta, Alkamenou, Alcibiadeu, Almirou, Aristomenou, Karditsis, Prousis, Samos, Feron, Adana, Vergas , Helles, Exikiou, Erythron, Kyzikos, Chevalier, Trofonio, Phylis, Agios Meletios, Agorakritos, Derigny, Aristotelous, Domokos, Konitsis, Ionia Avenue, Parasiou, Pergamum, Kefallinia, Lela Karagianni, Sozopolis and I. During the works, the old, worn and unsuitable asphalt was replaced with new, high-quality ones, while the necessary crossings and crossings were also carried out.
