The close cooperation developed by the police officers of the Patras Narcotics Prosecution Department over the last two and a half months with the Belgian authorities has been “fruitful”, for the identification and arrest of the 38-year-old Albanian “leader” of the criminal organization that trafficked drugs in Achaia and was dismantled at the beginning of December 2022.

The wanted person was arrested at Brussels airport, shortly before traveling to Albania and in the near future, it is expected to be issued in Greece.

The 38-year-old tried to fool airport officials by showing off forged travel documentsbut the police officers of Patras, who had received information about his movements, had informed that the man during the time he was in Albania after his escape from Greece, he had made sure to change his name and surnameconcealing his true identity.

In fact, the experienced officers of the Prosecution had forwarded all the new information of the wanted person, against whom he had already European arrest warrant issued. Thus, when the 38-year-old, unsuspecting, gave his passport for control, the system went red, with the Belgian police, on March 17, handcuffing him.

The Albanian who resided in Rio and is considered by the local ELAS “capital” in the trade and trafficking of drugs in Patras and Aegialia, during the police operation of December 7, 2022, in which 4 members of the organization were arrested – among them “his right hand”, a 22-year-old fellow citizen of- and large quantities of drugs were seized, he had managed to escape.

While thehis accomplices were arrested, he was driving his car to Athens and the missed calls to the 22-year-old aroused his suspicions, resulting in him immobilizing the luxury vehicle in Vrachati, Corinthia, and disappearing. A police dog found 10.2 grams of cocaine in it.

In the operation of the Drug Enforcement Administrationmore than 12 kilograms of cannabis, 483 grams of cocaine, 43 grams of heroin, valued at 224,000 euros, were found and confiscated buried in forest lands in Platani of Patras and in Kyrenia of Aegialia.

THE PRECAUTIONS

For the case, they were remanded in custody, o a 22-year-old Albanian and a 27-year-old Patrian, while a 65-year-old retired sailor from Aegialia and a 27-year-old, also from Patras, who had a regional role, were released with restrictive conditions and the payment of a financial guarantee.
As it turned out, they operated as a “front”, either providing their own vehicles or renting cars used by the traffickers for their movements.

THEY WERE FIRST IN COCAINE

After the dismemberment of the criminal organization, the traffickers “had the lead in the promotion of cocaine, from the area of ​​Hagia Sophia to Rio and from Lambiri, Rodini to Aigio”.

Yes, according to information, in the multi-page criminal file that was formed included two more indictments concerning the trafficking of heroin by a couple arrested last June outside KETX, and the trafficking of cocaine with the accused Patrinos. The police investigation established that their main supplier was the 38-year-old Albanian. In the first case, 86 purchases and sales were identified, however what caused a sensation was the fact that the androgynous during the “transactions” always had his minor child with him, covering his back.

A foreign man was arrested, on 17-3-2023, in a foreign country, by foreign police authorities, against whom a European Arrest Warrant was pending.

It is recalled that in December 2022, a criminal organization involved in systematic drug trafficking in Achaia was dismantled after a months-long investigation by the police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Security Directorate of Patras, during which four members of the organization were arrested, while the leading member was being sought , who had fled to a foreign country.

A case file was filed against the defendant – the leader of the organization – by the police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Patras Security Directorate, for criminal organization and drug trafficking.

During the police operation, more than (12) kilograms of cannabis, (483) grams of cocaine, (43) grams of heroin and precision electronic scales were seized.
