Shortly after 10:00 in the morning, the route from Thessaloniki to Larissa started today, with the train being filled to one-sixth of its total capacity.

Few tickets were bought by passengers (80 from Athens and 52 from Thessaloniki) on the first pair of intercity trains that entered the tracks from Thessaloniki to Athens and at 10.28 from Athens to Thessaloniki.

22 minutes after 12 noon, the intercity train from Thessaloniki passes the accident site. The train slows down and everyone’s thoughts are with the 57 people who lost their lives there.

From 7th April there will be two pairs of services on the Intercity line and three from 11th April.

The restart is done with increased security measures with all the required protocols.

Thus reduced routes are carried out, with low speeds, two stationmasters per station, two train drivers and an attendant and passage of only one train in the tunnels.
