With the testimony of defense witnesses, the trial for the murder of Alkis and the wounding of his two friends continues at the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki.
12 PAOK fans are sitting in the dock and are accused of manslaughter, committed and attempted, as well as other crimes.

The 23-year-old sister of the 9th defendant – who was holding the karabitte knife – testified as follows:

“He’s my big brother. He was always a support for me. He was working two jobs. We helped mom, during the summers, on the island. Alexander went up to Thessaloniki for a girl. He was renting a house.”

Regarding the controversial incident, the witness said: “I feel very difficult to be here. There are no words to express how sorry I am for Alki’s family. I learned about the incident late.

I found the lock changed in the house where we lived in Athens. There had been an investigation by the police. They told me that they are looking for him for the Thessaloniki case. “Tell him to surrender” they told me.

I called our parents and they said they know. He called me from prison. He apologized to me, saying: “I didn’t do it”. Then he said “I have hit once, twice with a knife. I don’t know who I hit. I’m not sure”. He was a jerk. Then he called me and said: “I’m sure, I didn’t knock for Alki”. When we talk he cries, he apologizes for disturbing the family. They attacked my mother. At first he said “I don’t know who I hit” Then, “I definitely didn’t do it”. He remembers hitting the outside of the leg.”

Furthermore, the accused’s sister noted: “I was very upset when I heard about the incident. I find it unacceptable. I asked who hit Alkis. He replied: “Everything happened so fast and I don’t know who hit who.”
