According to his predictions National Observatory of Athenssignificant bad weather with the name ILINA will affect almost the entire country during the two days Monday 04/03 – Tuesday 04/04.
Main features of the bad weather wave will be:
-Rainfalls that in some places will leave significant amounts of rain
-Locally strong storms that will be accompanied by hail and very strong gusty winds
-The heavy snowfalls in the continental highlands, with indicative altitudes above 1800 meters in the south, above 1500 meters in the rest and above 1000 meters in the northwest.

-The drop in temperature
Especially for Monday 03/04, until noon the phenomena will be located in the Ionian Sea, in the continental core of the country (with the exception of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace) and in the western parts of the Aegean. From noon onwards, the phenomena will gradually extend to Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, while a front of strong storms will cross the Aegean from west to east. At the same time, the southern winds will present a significant boost, with their intensities reaching 6 Beaufort in the Ionian and 8 Beaufort in the Aegean. An exception is the Northern Aegean where an easterly current will prevail with intensities up to 7 Beaufort.
In the forecast maps that follow, the position of the barometric low and the geographical distribution of the phenomena that will occur for the intervals 12:00 – 15:00 and 18:00 – 21:00 on Monday 03/04 are shown. According to the Precipitation Episode Classification (RPI), which is implemented by the Meteo Unit of the National Observatory of Athens, the expected precipitation episode is classified as Category 4 (Very Important).
