Baltakos: “Insulting and defamatory incidents, Marinakis-Karapapas to blame”

For abusive and defamatory behaviours against him and therefore against the EPO spoke out Takis Baltakos asking the members of the Executive Committee authorization to act against Olympiakos and Vangelis Marinakis and Kostas Karapapas.

“Last Monday, at the meeting that took place at the EPO, there were incidents that you are aware of. Abusive and defamatory incidents, towards Bennett and me. They touched us both. The culprits were Mr. Marinakis and Mr. Karapapas. It is necessary for you to authorize me as the president of the EPO so that I can take the legal actions of a disciplinary nature (ethics committee inside and outside Greece), but also of a civil and criminal nature, due to the fact that there was also a video that was reproduced. These are acts of a criminal nature. I’m asking for your vote on this one“, said the president of EPO, as reported by the side of the federation.

The representative of Olympiakos, Takis Agrafiotis, reacted by asking: “Was it a formal meeting, were there any minutes?“, for Takis Baltakos to answer: “The whole process was taped and I had made it known from the beginning. I told everyone that ‘the system records everything’».

Mr. Agrafiotis came back asking “Was there consensus among those present?» receiving the answer: «I told them this from the beginning and there was total agreement. No one objected. They were asked».

Then the representative of Olympiakos said: “Do you know that without express consent is illegal? Olympiacos knew nothing and will sue you for it. If you feel aggrieved, take whatever action you want on your own. What is the job of the Executive?“, with Takis Baltakos answering: “When the president of the EPO is affected, the EPO is affected».

When Mr. Agrafiotis claimed that the meeting was informal, the president of the federation replied: “Why was it informal? For me it wasn’t, but even if it was, it still affects the EPO. So you can swear in informal?».

The representative of Olympiakos continued by stating: “Only Marinakis and Karapapas have behaved inappropriately? Were others not misbehaved?“, with Mr. Baltakos replying “Against me, yes. Only them».

Takis Agrafiotis asked again “Didn’t anyone else curse UEFA?” and Takis Baltakos replied: “I don’t remember that. But will I ask for authorization for UEFA? I will ask for the EPO. Those that affect the president of the EPO, and therefore the EPO».

Concluding, the representative of Piraeus said: “I wonder how you do these. Neither were the members of the EU present, nor do we have anything in writing, the minutes. You do it without minutes because if there are minutes, others will have to go to court. I vote NO and demand the minutes and all materials. All this is being done because you want to trap all EU members. to share the responsibilities arising from this meeting as it happened».

This was followed by a 15-1 vote that authorized Takis Baltakos to follow the legal path.
