Winter continues to be the scene of the weather in Thessaloniki and in other regions of Central Macedonia.
The Fire Service received about ten calls for falling trees and two for removal of objects while several roads remain flooded. According to information, in both cases the removals of items involved sheet metal. In one case, metal sheets had fallen on a tree, threatening the passing citizens, while in the second they fell on the roof of a house.
Also, possibly due to the slippery nature of the road, a truck overturned in the afternoon on the ring road, heading west, at the height of Efkarpia. Vehicular traffic is conducted in one lane.
The weather is rainy throughout Central Macedonia. According to the Police, due to heavy rainfall and overflowing of the Aliakmonas river, traffic has been stopped on the municipal road (parallel to Egnatia Road), between the settlements of Niseloudi and Prasinada in Imathia. Snowfall is recorded in the ski resorts of Pisoderio in Florina, Vasilitsa in Grevena, Selio in Imathia and Kaimaktsalan (Voras) in Pella.
Bad weather “Ilina” is predicted to bring storms tomorrow in Central, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
About 45-50 millimeters of rain fell in Western Thessaloniki, while 25 millimeters of rain fell in the center of the co-capital.
