An incredible complaint came to light when a student complained that the landlord of the room she was renting installed a hidden camera and was watching her.

According to the report, a student was looking for a house in Thessaloniki and visited an apartment. When she saw a white device in the bedroom of the apartment, she asked the owner what it was and he replied that it was an alarm device and it was out of order, according to what the girl claimed.

Having been assured by the owner that the device was not working, the student was reassured. However, the white device turned out to be a camera, as the owner, when he was caring for his mother and had a dedicated nurse, had put the camera on to see what was going on. His mother passed away and he did not have time, as the owner said, to put the mechanism into operation and so it did not record.

Speaking to Mega, Anthoula Anasoglou, the owner’s lawyer, emphasized that it is proven through technical reports that the camera was not in operation and was not recording.

“The defense comes with technical reports from a large office in Thessaloniki, which clearly states that it is not hidden. The word hidden is a misleading word, it is an obvious thing. The camera was not working and this is proven in every way,” he said.

This particular camera can only record wired, with the owner’s lawyer explaining that the device cannot work without Wi-Fi, while she also emphasized that if the camera is not connected to a recorder, then there is no crime.

The student filed a complaint against the owner and is seeking compensation of 150,000 euros.
