The amateur short film entitled “Xaparthenon”, which was shot under the Acropolis and, among other things, depicts a couple making love in public under the sacred rock, has provoked strong reactions.

The script includes a couple of men who have divorced and go up to the Acropolis, at the urging of their friends, to find them. Eventually they make love, in public view and with their friends around them so that they are not visible to the rest of the world.

In a statement, the Ministry of Culture states that scenes were filmed illegally at the archeological site of the Acropolis: “” Obviously, no permission has been given for the specific scenes by the competent services of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The archeological site of the Acropolis is not suitable for any kind of activism or other activity, which offends and behaves disrespectfully at the monument.

By order of the Minister of Culture and Sports to the Head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Athens, a preliminary examination is carried out, in accordance with the Code of Civil Servants, in order to investigate the circumstances under which the incident took place and assign responsibilities. the announcement concludes.

Apparently for the specific shootings, the guards of the Acropolis did not seem to realize the slightest thing. The presentation of the film took place on 17/12 at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is now free on the internet.
