Comida di Buteco serves unique snacks in bars in São Paulo
This Friday (7), the 23rd edition of the Comida di Buteco contest begins, which has 116 participants in the capital of São Paulo and Osasco — and another thousand competing in circuits in other cities in the country.
Until May 7th, the festival wants to celebrate the Brazilian bar culture with recipes created especially for the event, prepared by bars in all regions of the city, always sold at R$ 30.
One of the examples is Bar do Berinjela (Praça Vinte de Janeiro, 67), in Vila Regente Feijó, east of the city, which will serve a meatball with pepper pesto, mayonnaise with Syrian pepper and barbecue sauce. The address was champion in 2013 and caused queues with its eggplant and pepperoni dough and Parmesan stuffing.
Famoso Bar do Justo (Rua Alferes Magalhães, 25), in the northern part of the city, in Santana, bets on an irreverent combination: a dumpling stuffed with curd and pork shank breaded with sugar-free cornflakes.
Representative of the southern region, in Vila Mariana, Barxaréu (Rua Joaquim Távora, 1150) prepares dried meat balls with pepper-biquinho, served with house-made pepper sauce.
In Perdizes, on the west side of the city, DuJuZé Bar (Rua Itapicuru, 887) serves a portion of mini French bread with three fillings: pulled pork with spices, ribs smoked over applewood and smoked shoulder of lamb seasoned with chimichurri, which they are accompanied by three types of sauce (mint, basil mayonnaise and onion vinaigrette with coriander).
In July, the country’s champion bar will be announced, after the regional voting stages are carried out, made by the public and by judges. Last year, the winner was Bar do Braz, in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, which prepared the pepperoni ball with ricotta and cheese, accompanied by pepper jelly.
Comida di Buteco was born in 2000 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, and since 2016 it has elected the best bar in the country.
