“Justification of the victims who found the courage to report, despite their young age” characterize the criminal prosecution brought against the founder and former employees of the Ark of the World, in their announcement, the advocates in support of the charge Kostas Kosmatos, Cleo Papapantoleon and Christos Lampakis.

In their announcement, the advocates of the children who reported the case to the authorities state:

“The initiation of criminal proceedings against the main person involved and seven other workers at Kivoto tou Kosmos, on the basis of all the evidence gathered during the preliminary examination, is undoubtedly an important development. On the one hand, it means that the Prosecutor who studied the case file considered that there are sufficient indications for the commission of serious crimes against our principals, apparently evaluating their complaints and statements as reliable. On the other hand, it constitutes a first, even at an early stage, vindication of our principals but also of all the victims, who found the courage to report, despite their young age.

We await the transfer of the case file to a regular investigator for the felonies and the determination of jurisdiction for the misdemeanors.

Absolutely respecting the confidentiality of the investigative process, but also the secondary victimization of our principals that took place with the release of material from the case file, we cannot make any further statement or report. However, it is certain that the fastest possible procedural development and settlement of this specific case will contribute to limiting their trauma and stigmatization.”
