See what the Ministry of Education says in its explanatory circular
Until five days of absence due to the disease from the corona virus COVID-19 will be recorded but will not be counted, according to a clarifying circular of the Ministry of Education.
In particular, as stated in the relevant announcement, after the lifting of emergency protection measures from the risk of the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, it was clarified that by decision of the Teachers’ Association of the school units, the absences in question are registered but will not be counted.
“The decision of the Association is issued following the request of the parents/guardians of the students or themselves, if they are adults, together with which a relevant responsible declaration is submitted, showing at the same time to the Director or Head of the school units the corresponding certificate of positive control using rapid detection of the COVID-19 coronavirus antigen (rapid test) or molecular control (PCR)”, the announcement states.
In addition, it is provided that in the event that a student is admitted to a hospital due to an illness from the COVID-19 virus, their absences are recorded but not counted for the entire period of hospitalization. The above absences are beyond the number of absences provided for by the more general or more specific provisions.
