Get started the tendering process of the works flood protection of Nea Makri in Attica, following a decision by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Infrastructure, Giorgos Karagiannis.
The “Flood protection projects, rainwater projects in the area of ​​Nea Makris Attica” have an estimated budget of 60 million euros, while the final date of the tender is within May.
The deadline for the execution of the project is 24 months from the signing of the contract.
The object of the project is the arrangement of seven streams, as well as rainwater network projects, in the N. Makris area with a total length of approximately 18 km.
The planned projects will significantly contribute to the anti-flood shielding of the wider area of ​​Nea Makri, which has seen rapid urbanization and land use change in recent years.
The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Giorgos Karagiannis noted that: “The project of the flood protection of Nea Makri is particularly important at the local and supra-local level as it will create a protection net for the area on the one hand, and on the other hand it will contribute to the wider planning for the flood protection of Attica.
This is the last of the 10 flood protection projects – 7 in Attica, 2 in Thessaloniki and 1 in Corinth – financed by the NSRF, the European Investment Bank and the Bank of the Council of Europe, which is entering the tendering process thus completing the wider our design.
