The Police are on the trail of the perpetrators of the attack and the serious injury of archaeologist Manolis Psarrou in Mykonos.

At least 15 vehicles – cars and motorcycles – have come under the microscope of the researchers, which are likely to have been used by the perpetrators.

The emergence of the evidence has resulted from the analysis of dozens of videos collected by the officers of the Extortion Prosecution Department of the Attica Security Directorate, from points around the archaeologist’s house near the KAT area, from his work, from his route to the point of the attack, as well as possible routes followed by the perpetrator or perpetrators, during the approach and escape.

Some of these appear to be identified as vehicle types shortly before and shortly after the attack on the archaeologist. The police are trying to “clean” their license plates in order to locate their owners.

From there they will examine whether they have a criminal past or whether they come from circles where such an attack could come from. The case of the attack and beating of Manolis Psarrou was directly related to the threatening text messages received by his colleague, approximately 15 days after the attack against him.

A squad of six police officers from the Prosecution of Extortionists is on the island of Mykonos, looking for information and testimonies related to the two incidents. Police sources say that the constant controls on the island of the winds create a pressure and an escalating reaction that opens more and more mouths.
