Eva Kaili will be released tomorrow morning at 11:00 Brussels time. The “bracelet” that was being sought was found and according to her lawyer, Michalis Dimtrakopoulos, she will be released from Haren prisons, following a decision by the judicial authorities.

Dimitrakopoulos: No fingerprints of Kaili were found on the bundles of money

“The thing that keeps her Eva Kaili psychologically strong, is that she is aware that she is innocent and that she will fight to prove her innocence”. This was stated by the lawyer of the former vice-president of the European Parliament, Michalis Dimitrakopoulosshortly after the two-hour meeting he had with her in the prisons of Haren.

Mr. Dimitrakopoulos stated that today was the first time after 4 months that he saw Ms. Kaili in a “normal mental state”. “She reminded me of the old Eva Kaili,” he said, stressing that she “had a very hard time” and recalling her sixteen-hour isolation at the police station.

“THE Eva Kaili she endured and what keeps her psychologically strong is that she is aware that she is innocent”, said Mr. Dimitrakopoulos, pointing out that there are many elements in the case file that establish without any doubt that Ms. Kaili will be acquitted. He also noted that “we respect the confidentiality of the preliminary investigation and that’s why we don’t leak evidence of the case file.”

Continuing, Mr. Dimitrakopoulos stated that from the money and findings at the residence of Ms. Kaili and her partner, it is proven that they were not related to Eva Kaili and no fingerprints of her were found on any improvised bundle of money. “There are many other pieces of evidence that we will present in the investigation,” he added. He also stated that Ms. Kaili is determined to help the investigation “in everything she knows and about whomever she knows. He will testify to everything.”

“One thing is certain that she has not received a single euro by utilizing and exploiting her political status.”

According to Mr. Dimitrakopoulos, Eva Kaili dreams of the day she will hear that she is innocent. Only then will she be able to return to Greece and look into the eyes of the people who trusted her for so many years and honored her with their vote.
