A couple from Thessaloniki fell victim to the theft of a large sum of money. Unknown persons broke into their apartment, on Alexandrou Papanastasiou Street, and stole the sum of 150,000 euros.
According to his exclusive report thestival.gr, the couple was away from the apartment for three days in order to celebrate Easter. When they got home the damage was done. They found the apartment door broken.
The couple had placed the money in two cardboard boxes in the attic of the apartment. The money came from a house sale.
The burglars it looks like they were careful as no one from the block of flats noticed the slightest thing. They broke into the house with a crowbar, grabbed the money and left.
“We are very hurt by what has happened. We turned around and found the door open. Unfortunately, none of the other tenants noticed the slightest thing,” the tenant of the apartment told thestival.gr.
A preliminary investigation into the incident is being carried out by the Security Department of Toumba – Triandria.
