In an atmosphere of emotion and with the traditions of the Muslims, the unfortunate Nurdan Guduz from Turkey was buried on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Kos.
At the last “goodbye” were the people of Vakuf Kos, a few inhabitants of the island and some Turkish friends of the girl’s husband who live outside Turkey.
The funeral ceremony took place at the Muslim Cemetery in Platani with the attendees shocked by the tragic story of the young couple who was in the cemetery of Kos from December 2, 2021.
It is recalled that the young couple of judges left pursued by Turkey and Erdogan. On December 2 and under unclear circumstances, the boat they were riding in capsized and drowned off Kos. Since then, the unfortunate couple remained in the Kos morgue in the “unclaimed” as the Erdogan government with various actions did not allow the family to come to Greece for identification, nor to receive the bodies.
According to Rhodian, The silence of the atmosphere was broken by the cries and the emotion of the relatives of the undefeated Nurdan who watched online via mobile phones the funeral of their beloved daughter and sister. A shocking moment, as the Erdogan government did not allow the family to travel to Kos, nor of course permission to return the body of the young girl.
The funeral was undertaken entirely by Vakouf Kos who took care of every detail with great respect. As the president, Ms. Elvan Konzaoglu, told us, next to the girl’s memorial, there was a place for her husband so that when the funeral takes place, he can rest next to his beloved wife. The imam said in a statement that he would always pray for the rest of her soul.
However, the presence of Mayor Bodrum during this period in Kos and the official meetings he had with the Municipality of Kos, the Muslim Brotherhood and other bodies may not have been accidental. Apparently, the mayor of Bodrum was probably aware of the tragic event that has shaken the societies on both sides of the Aegean.
It is noted that the shocking story caused a great wave of emotion in Greece and Turkey with the citizens who oppose the ruling party being immediately described as Gulenists and enemies of the homeland.
Two young people, working in the judiciary, left with the only hope of a free life, an independent point of view and a better “tomorrow”. Unfortunately the dreams were lost on the December morning at sea.
After much suffering and even after death, the first part of the drama ended yesterday in the Muslim cemetery and Nurdan’s funeral. In the coming days, Ibrahim’s family is expected to follow the same path as his wife and rest in peace in the Koa land.
