Kate Middleton celebrates 40 years this Sunday (9) with the release of three new photos released on the official accounts of the royal family on social networks. The Duchess of Cambridge wears different dresses from the luxury brand Alexander McQueen, also responsible for her wedding dress.
The portraits were taken by fashion photographer Paolo Roversi, who has worked with Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. According to The Guardian, Roversi described photographing Kate as a “moment of pure joy”.
“I was touched by her warm and friendly welcome and delighted by her bright eyes that reflected the beauty of her soul, and her smile that revealed the generosity of her heart,” said Roversi.
He added that the Duchess’s positive energy “can bring hope to the whole world”.
In the image where Kate is wearing a red one-shouldered dress, she wears earrings borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II. In the other two photos, she wears earrings that belonged to her mother-in-law, Princess Diana (1961-1997).
The three images will form part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery. According to The Guardian, Prince William’s wife will celebrate her birthday with her family in Norfolk, UK.
