With Bulletproof vest escorted by policemen, the 63-year-old self-confessed perpetrator of the heinous crime in Kato Achaia arrived at the Courts of Patras at noon on Wednesday.

Upon his entrance he contented himself with declaring repentant for his act, while he did not answer any of the journalists’ questions about the motive that “armed” his hand.

He appeared before the prosecutor who prosecuted him criminal prosecution for murder with intent and unlawful use of a weapon, without defense counsel. The defendant requested and received a deadline to apologize on Friday, while the court will appoint a lawyer.

At the same time, the findings of the forensic examination are shocking, as according to exclusive information of the “Peloponnisos” newspaper, the body of the 63-year-old had a total of 56 stab wounds.

The perpetrator of the murder hit the victim with a small knifes, which is used in livestock operations, causing him, as mentioned in the official announcement of the Police, multiple wounds in the abdominal-thoracic region and in the ribs. The dismembered corpse, found in a field near the primary school in the “gypsies” of Kato Achaia, “testified” from the first moment that it was a “brutal” crime with the perpetrator showing particular anger towards the victim, who allegedly tried to resist.

What did the perpetrator say in his apology?

The police officers of the Western Achaia Security Department, using evidence, testimonies and video material in a short time, reached the tracks of the 63-year-old, who after the murder went to his house, where the clothes with traces of blood were found. He was arrested and taken to the police station of K. Achaia, where he almost immediately confessed that he had killed his neighbor, citing as his main claim the fact that he had an affair with his wife. During his confession, he described in every detail what happened before he “blurred out” and even indicated to the police where he had hidden the knife, which was found a short distance from the scene of the crime. According to secure information from “P”, the defendant allegedly claimed that he asked the 63-year-old to cut off contact with his wife, with the latter refusing.

The two men, according to the perpetrator’s claims, met by chance in the square in the “Gypsy” district. He asked his neighbor to discuss his “personal” matter and together they agreed to go to the field in order to avoid “prying eyes.” There, the defendant once again asked the 63-year-old to end the relationship he had with his wife, receiving a negative answer.
