An earthquake occurred in Evia on Saturday morning, with the 4.5 Richter terrorizing the island again.

The epicenter was just seven kilometers from Zarakes, the focal depth 11 kilometers and the tremor was felt not only in Evia but even in areas of Athens.

Understandably, in Zarakes as well as in the wider area of ​​South Evia, there is great concern from the new “hit” of “Engelados”, with the residents of the area being terrified. There have still been no reports of damage, however, the first images show the situation in the village at this time.

Residents have been terrified by the new earthquake, but also by the continuous smaller tremors in the last hour, as a result of which they stay out of buildings. Most are afraid to enter their homes, remain outside and express their concern.
“We all came out of our houses, things were falling on our heads, the earthquake was very strong. In the village there was a folk fair today and the whole world was in a commotion, things started falling from the stalls. All the residents are afraid of the possibility of a bigger earthquake,” a resident of the area told evima.gr.

The president of the Zarakon Community spoke to evima.gr and said that “the seismic vibration was very strong. At this time we are on alert and we are going to see if there has been any damage to houses.”
