The accused allegedly claimed that he was the first victim of his neighbor’s beating and bit him in self-defense
Two neighbors in a coastal settlement of western Pelion fought over the location of a garbage can and filed lawsuits against each other.
In fact, one accused the other of biting off part of his nose…
The incident reportedly happened on July 19, 2020, and the cause was the location of the trash can outside the home of one or the other…
One moved the bin out of the other’s house and the other allegedly moved it out of the former’s house.
It didn’t take long for the fight to break out, they allegedly came to blows and yesterday the first of the defendants sat in the bench of the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Volos, accused of grievous bodily harm, while his mother was also accused of complicity in the aforementioned act.
The latter, however, was absent from the hearing, as she was represented by a lawyer.
The 45-year-old accused allegedly bit and cut off part of the skin of the neighbor’s right hand, his right and left wing and the mucous membrane of his nose.
The 45-year-old accused allegedly claimed he was the victim of his neighbor’s beating first and bit him in self-defence, while his defense lawyers presented the court with video footage allegedly showing the complainant had attacked the 45-year-old first.
Defense counsel disputed the authenticity of the footage, while the plaintiff emphasized that the 45-year-old attacked him first, verbally abused and threatened him.
The trial was adjourned until June 8, while the plaintiff is also expected to sit on the bench in the next period, accused of simple bodily harm, insult and threat.
