The EL.AS proceeded to arrest a total of 142 people after special operations carried out from April 28 to this morning, May 2, in areas of Southern Greece to prevent and deal with delinquency and criminality.
In particular, 4,725 vehicles and 6,910 people were checked, while 142 arrests were made for various crimes and for violations of the Code of Civil Procedure, 499 arrests, 3 confiscations and 113 vehicle immobilizations.
At the same time, 1,364 violations of the Code of Civil Procedure and 59 violations of anti-smoking legislation were confirmed.
In Attica actions focused, in line with existing policing plans, in Acharnes, Zefyri and Agia Varvarawith the participation of police officers from Order, Security, Traffic, Immediate Action Services, DI.AS and OPKE teams.
In the specific areas 471 people and 219 vehicles were checked, 24 were arrested for, as the case may be, convictions, power theft, dangerous bodily harm, trafficking, and violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Also, 73 people were brought in and 8 vehicles were stopped.
Targeted police actions, aimed at preventing and suppressing crime and improving the level of security for citizens, will continue.
