A total of 140 calls were received by its Operations Center Fire Department today Wednesday (03/05) from 15.00 noon to 20.00 in the afternoon due to an event heavy rains in the wider area of Trikalawhile so far the following have taken place:

  • 60 water pumps
  • 13 evacuations of people from homes and vehicles that were immobilized as well as
  • 3 tree fellings

The Fire Brigades remain in a state of increased readiness and continue to operate in the wider area of ​​Trikala mainly for pumping water.

It is recalled that, according to the updated Emergency Weather Deterioration Bulletin (EDEK) issued today by the National Meteorological Service (EMS), today Wednesday (05-03-2023) and tomorrow Thursday (05-04-2023) heavy rains are predicted and storms, which will be accompanied in places by a high frequency of lightning and hail, as well as strong winds.
