Municipality of Athens: The heated rooms that open to protect the homeless from the cold

The Municipality of Athens is proceeding with the operation of heated areas for the protection of the vulnerable population of the city, due to the low temperatures. In an effort to leave no one alone, the Municipal Authority opens structures and spaces where the homeless can be accommodated, warmed and protected from the cold.

Specifically, from today, January 11, at 20.00 and for as long as the very low temperatures prevail, the following spaces are open on a 24-hour basis:

· The Dormitory of the Multipurpose Center (Acharnon 3), in which the modern facilities, the homeless can find a warm bed at night and stay all day. All those who are hosted in the Multipurpose Center, will be subjected to RapidTest.

· The Panormos Friendship Club (Address: Panormou and Vathios 25) where the citizens will receive blankets and whatever else they need from the staff of the Municipality. And in this area our fellow citizens will undergo RapidTest upon entering the site. Contact Phone: 210.6459890.

At the same time, “Street Work” teams will be on the city streets around the clock to help those in need.
