The testimony of the 14-year-old girl who complained that she was a victim of rape by a 43-year-old sailor after they met on an online application is shocking.

“She told me she found me attractive and wanted to have a relationship.” These were the words of the 43-year-old sailor N.G. to the 14-year-old who reached out via an online app where users chat via camera in real time. The sailor had a specific plan of action with victims of underage girls, with the police having reasonable suspicions that the 14-year-old who subsequently accused him of rape is not the only case.

The accused was arrested, a few days ago, in Crete. After his apology, he is facing charges of rape, child pornography and sexual indecency.

“He asked me to do things and I was embarrassed”

The minor girl gave her first statement on April 22. As Patris newspaper published, the 14-year-old claimed:

“On October 13, 2022 at 19:30 while I was inside the online application…. I had an acquaintance with a gentleman named N.G. In this application you have the possibility to chat with strangers with a camera in real time. So one of them was N.G. who during our acquaintance mentioned to me that he finds me attractive and that he wants us to develop a further relationship and specifically that he wants us to have them. At that moment he asked me to accept him on other social media as well which I did and I followed him on viber, facebook, Instagram, What’s up, messenger, tik tok, snapchat. From that day on we started chatting on a daily basis through the above social media and more through messenger. During my video chats, he kept telling me that he wanted me romantically and told me that I was… and urged me to take my clothes off. Throughout our conversation I was telling him that I was embarrassed…”.

The 43-year-old, knowing very well the age of the girl and that she is a minor, did not have his God and asked the 14-year-old to do obscene acts, while he himself proceeded to actions that cannot be described publicly. “He asked me to do these actions every day and at the same time he told me the following phrases: Baby I love you, I want you as my wife, I want to see you naked, you are my love, I want to have children with you, with…, i want to have sex and many other things i’m embarrassed to mention. The last video conversation we had through the Messenger application was yesterday April 21st at 11:00 to 12:00, while I was at home and he was inside the cabin of the ship where he works and is stationed in the port of Piraeus, where he was specific actions while telling me that he has orexulas, while he pressured me to undress, but I didn’t. I could no longer stand this situation that was happening from October until now and I decided with a lot of effort to block him from all social media and I did.” The 43-year-old sailor did not stay only in online contacts but asked to meet the minor, as he did four times in total.

In the third meeting he proceeded with a specific act with the girl as he said “at that moment I froze and started crying as he, despite my reactions, proceeded with a specific act while I was terrified and cuffed him”. The 43-year-old in the last meeting proposed to the girl to go to his house, while throughout the conversation he asked the 14-year-old to send him nude photos and when she refused, he got irritated. “He was saying, please show me, come on, we’re going to have a good time. Come, you will have a good time with me… I felt that he was starting to turn bad, I felt that I was in danger.’

Parents’ attentiveness

The girl’s parents are the ones who notice changes in their child with the mother first ringing a bell when she overhears her daughter conversing with someone who sounded like an adult. When asked by her mother who the interlocutor is, the girl replies that it is a friend of hers, but she is not convinced and decides together with her husband to investigate. She discovers a piece of paper with two phone numbers written on it and by calling 11888 to find out who these mobiles belong to, she is led to the 43-year-old. The shock for both parents was great and without a second thought they are taken to the authorities where they make the complaint.

The arrest and revelations

The 43-year-old is located on the ship where he works in Heraklion, Crete and is arrested. However, the police officers discover that he is an old acquaintance of the authorities, having engaged the authorities for similar crimes: -On 03/04/2022, he was arrested accused of Child Pornography, Threat, Rape and Insult, violation of the Weapons Act and violation of personal data. -On 31.07.2020 he was arrested accused of domestic violence with the victim his own daughter, whom he punched in the face and also with a belt. There it was revealed that he was forcing his ex-wife, using violence, into sexual acts, which were broadcast live on cameras to users of couples’ pornographic websites. -On 02-17-2022, a defendant is arrested again for domestic violence. Despite his criminal acts he walked free and was even proud of them and had no qualms about approaching minors.

He had even said to the 14-year-old: “He told me about one of his exes, 16 years old, that he beat her because she was talking to her ex and that he was uploading nude photos of her on Instagram to get revenge on her because she was talking to her ex. He had told me this himself. And I say to him, are you doing well? What you’re doing here is not nice, well, it hurts me now, , it’s in the past, forget it. In the meantime, he told me that every fifteen days he went to the departments of Livadia and Nice because he was sued by the former and now in June he had a court, that’s what he told me…”. 0 43-year-old who has already apologized, faces serious charges such as Rape, pornography of minors, sexual indecency
