A building under construction was detected in the coastal area of Mykonos where illegal earthworks were being carried out – 4 machines were seized
In the context of targeted police checks carried out to combat arbitrary construction on the islands of the South Aegean, yesterday (Tuesday, May 9, 2023) in the morning in Mykonos and Rose a total of five people (four citizens and a foreigner) were arrested for illegal construction-earthworks, employment of illegal aliens and arbitrary constructions, as the case may be.
According to the announcement of EL.AS, at Mykonosan arbitrary building was found under construction in a coastal area, as well as large-scale works involving embankments, excavations, opening roads and depositing building materials that extended to the coastal zone, without a permit, were found.
Three trucks and a construction machine were seized from the site where the earthworks were being carried out, which are being kept in order to be handed over to the competent Customs Authority.
At Rosein a store of health interest (canteen) operating in a coastal area, an illegal installation of wooden construction with the development of table seats was found.
The co-competent Services were informed of the identified violations.
Those arrested, against whom separate criminal files have been filed, are taken to the competent Prosecution Authorities
