After the recent “strikes” on the rings of illegal immigrant traffickers, the officers of the Central Port Authority of Patras succeeded in another one, this time in drug trafficking, with the arrest three Greeks aged 61, 43 and 42 years respectively.

The dog of the Coast Guard “MEZCAL”, during the operation of the Regional Drug Enforcement Team with the assistance of the Special Task Force, “punch out” large quantities cannabis, cocaine, MDMA and LSD carried by a truck, which according to the information of the “Peloponnisos” newspaper, arrived at the port of Patras from the Netherlands on Monday night and had its final destination in Athens.

The five cartons found in the cargo contained 50,825g of cannabis in chocolate form, 552g of cocaine, 1,068g of the drug MDMA – also known as ‘poor man’s cocaine’ – in rock form, three 20.9g packages of white and red crystalline powder and 500 pieces soaked with LSD. The drugs were to be promoted in areas of Attica.

The 42 plastic packages found in the truck loads, they “hid” more than 360 parcels in which the quantities of narcotic substances had been distributed. The 61-year-old international transport driver was arrested, however, according to information, in order to “go easy”, he cooperated with the authorities.

Thus, on Tuesday morning, under the watchful eye of the port authorities, the journey of transporting and delivering the “goods” continued to the 43-year-old and the 42-year-old in areas of Attica, where they were arrested. Among those arrested is a taxi driver, whose vehicle was also seized.

Yesterday, the arrested were taken to the public prosecutor of Patras, where they requested and received a deadline to apologize on Monday.
