Events, bazaars, workshops and speeches, with music and songs, but also games for mothers’ children, are organized today, Sunday 14 May 2023, by many Municipalities in Attica, on the occasion of Mother’s Day.

Specifically, Mr Municipality of Nea Ionia entitled “My Mother… You”, honors mothers tonight at the Convention Center (7:00 p.m.). At the event, women of the city will be honored as symbols of dignity, strength, patience and perseverance, as well as with a significant contribution to the social and cultural life of Nea Ionia.

The OPAN Children-Youth Choir, the OPAN Conservatory Children’s Choir, the OPAN Traditional and Folk Choir and the OPAN Conservatory Folk Orchestra participate in the event, with texts narrated by Eva Faklari.

THE Municipality of Papagos-Cholargos organizes an event at the “Phoebus” field of Marshal Alexandros Papagos Park (11:00-15:00) and actions are planned for children and parents, with sports activities and many games, while the municipality will offer gifts to mothers and treats.

THE Municipality of Dionysos in a special event at the Cultural-Spiritual Center of Agios Stefanos (18:00-20:30) he will honor “the mothers who raise tomorrow’s citizens”, as indicated and there will be a speech on “Common problems of childhood and adolescence – Anxiety of exams and the role of parents” by the child and adolescent psychiatrist dr. Stavroula Karagiannis. A discussion will follow. The aim is to inform about the current problems of development, learning and behavior, which parents are asked to deal with depending on the age of the children.

THE Municipality of Ilio and the Women’s Center are organizing a big celebration in Heroes’ Square of the Polytechnic (11:00), which includes an event for charity with a bazaar to support the organization “The Smile of a Child”, painting for children and adults with the supervision of the person in charge of the painting workshop of the Culture Directorate of Garifallias Tourlende, songs from the municipality’s choir and traditional dances from the dance group of the Women’s Center.

THE Municipality of Peristeri “sets up” his own celebration in Alsos, both in the morning (11:00-13:30) and in the afternoon (18:00-20:30). Children will be able to take digital photos with their moms, do face painting, make gifts and cards with love messages, read fairy tales, play theater games, sing, make up their own verses for their mom, to write the best wishes and dedications in the wish book.

THE Municipality of Ilioupoli celebrates the day at Navarino Park (11:00-13:00) with music, dance and various events, such as:

– The children of the 8th and 17th Primary Schools will dance traditional dances for the mother and spring.

– The children of the 20th Primary School will present their award-winning robotics project.

– The children of KDAP MEA “Panagia Evangelistria” will participate with a theatrical event.

– A “simultaneous” chess match will be held in the area of ​​fixed tables.

– Little gardeners will create their own corner by planting flowers and aromatic plants, assemble and paint the first bicycle pot.

– The Greek Drivers Association will prepare treats.

– The children will do spring face painting.

– They will decorate floral gifts to give to their moms.

– A fairy tale about the mother will be read.

– And “treasure hunt of values”.

In the park there is the new playground and the renovated sports area, as well as the table tennis tables.

THE Municipality of Glyfada together with the “Chiros Erga” Craftsmen’s Association, prepares gifts for mothers in Katraki Square, from 9 am to 9 pm and organizes a bazaar with various creations. Part of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

THE Municipality of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli ahead of Mother’s Day, he is inaugurating the brand new Fairytale Town, which he built on Troumbari hill (11:00) and the opening program also includes parties and many surprises and activities for the little ones, but also for the mothers.

Finally, O Municipality of Vari-Voulas-Vouliagmeni celebrated Saturday yesterday, together with the Friendship Clubs of the city at the Ionia Cultural Center, with an evening that included poetry, music, singing, awards, but also a fashion show, while the foyer was decorated with paintings by the painter Aggeliki Erimou. The choir of the Friendship Clubs of the municipality also participated in the event.
