According to EL.AS, policemen from the Tribal Police Department went to the wider area of Parnitha, in order to locate the dead horses and to carry out the necessary further actions
A preliminary investigation is underway by the Tribal Police Department regarding the incident of finding dead horses in Parnitha.
In particular, as the police announced, in the context of investigating a complaint, yesterday, Monday, May 15, 2023, police officers from the Fylis Police Department, together with employees of the Municipality of Fylis, the Veterinary Service of the Western Attica Region and the Forestry Department of Parnitha, went to the wider area of Parnithas, in order to locate the dead horses on the one hand and to carry out the necessary further actions on the other hand.
In the context of the searches carried out on Mount Parnitha, two dead horses were found in a ravine about 100 meters deep.
The Animal Protection Prosecutor was informed about the incident and the progress of the investigations.
It is recalled that Giorgos Psycharis posted on Facebook a picture of two dead horses in Western Parnitha, in a steep spot. As he mentioned, this is another incident of “unloading useless horses”. Mr. Psycharis made the complaint and emphasized that it is most likely that the animals are thrown alive (old, sick) since it is more convenient to transport them to the site in this way.
