After first abusing an employee of the KEP of the Municipality of Patreon with obscene expressions, she then punched her colleague, who was a person with special needs, in the face and asked him to calm down.

This unprecedented incident occurred yesterday morning at the KEP, which is located in the old port of Patras.

A 45-year-old man, while being served by an employee, lost his temper when he was informed that his matter could not be handled by the KEP and he had to contact another service.

With vulgar expressions, he verbally attacked the employee, as a result of which a great commotion and disturbance was caused in the area. Then the nearby colleague of the employee asked the citizen to calm down and that there was no reason for him to behave in this unacceptable way. The citizen, instead of calming down, became even more furious and after spitting on the protective glass on the counter, attacked the employee, who was a person with special needs, and punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed.

The Director of the KEP immediately called the Police and EKAV, while also informing the responsible deputy mayor, Dionysis Plessa, who requested that the prescribed procedure be initiated.

After his act, the bully citizen disappeared before the Police arrived, however, in his panic he forgot his mobile phone, as a result of which his identity was revealed and legal proceedings were initiated against him.

The employees of the KEP went to the Security and gave statements, while the employee who was injured went to the Hospital in order to undergo tests and receive a forensic opinion, while he filed a lawsuit against the citizen.

“Shame and only shame! Such actions are uncharacteristic. Is it possible for workers to be beaten by civilians? That is, from the people who give their best to serve? The worker is agitated and trying to overcome the shock. I am in constant communication with him, so that I can be informed about his health”, said Mr. Plessas.
