License plates and driving and traffic licenses are returned that had been removed or filed with the Police Authorities, for violations, in order to make it easier for citizens to move around the place exercising their right to vote.

By Decision of the Minister of Citizen Protection, Panagiotis Theodorikakos, driver’s licenses, license plates and vehicle traffic permits will be returned from tomorrow, Thursday, May 18, 2023, in order to facilitate the exercise of the citizens’ right to vote in the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

The Decision concerns the driving and traffic data that have been removed or filed with the police authorities until Wednesday, May 17, 2023, exclusively for the violations:

of article 34 of the C.O.K. (stopping and parking) and paragraph 3 of article 4 of the Code of Civil Procedure (P-40 sign, stopping and parking prohibited), for which the license and license plates will be withdrawn for twenty (20) days , in accordance with paragraph 8 of article 103 of the Civil Code, as amended and in force with paragraph 3 of article 31 of Law 4530/2018.

Violations related to obstructing ramps for disabled persons and parking in exclusive or general parking spaces for disabled persons are excluded (article 29 par. 1 sub. b’ of Law 4530/2018).

A condition for the return of the aforementioned driving and traffic data is the payment of the administrative fine.

It is noted that the execution of decisions issued by judicial or other authorities is normally applied, as they do not fall under the above procedure for returning the data.
