Almost 9 kilograms of heroin was hidden in the rear bumper of his car by a 23-year-old man who was arrested after a police operation on the Thessaloniki-Athens highway.

As stated in the EL.AS announcement:

More than 8 kilos and 900 grams of heroin was going to be channeled to hangouts of substance addicts by a young man, who was arrested after coordinated actions by police officers of the General Affairs Department of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate.

This is a 23-year-old citizen, against whom a case was filed for violation of the Law on Addictive Substances.

In particular, the aforementioned was detected by police officers of the above Service with the assistance of their colleagues from the Directorate of Immediate Action of Thessaloniki, moving in an I.X.E. car the E.O. Athens-Thessaloniki and was stopped at the Malgaron toll road, where after a check carried out on the vehicle, a total of 18 packages of heroin with a total weight of 8 kg and 919 grams were carefully hidden in the rear bumper.

In addition, in the possession of the 23-year-old, who from the investigation it emerged that he is a member of a heroin-trafficking ring, were found and confiscated:

  • The sum of 250 euros, as coming from drug trafficking and
  • 1 mobile phone that he used for his illegal transactions.

Also, the aforementioned vehicle was seized, as a means of drug trafficking.

The arrested person will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
