Circular issued by the Ministry of the Interior for the “first timers” of the ballot box who exercise their right to vote for the first time, specifically for 17-year-olds and young people up to 20 years of age.

In the circular “information and instructions for the conduct of the general parliamentary elections of 21 May 2023 within the Territory”, the settings which were introduced after the codification of Presidential Decree 26/2012, describe all the stages of the electoral process, the responsibilities and actions of all contributors, while the statutory deadlines are also mentioned, within which the latter must act.

In the elections of May 21, 2023 they will vote for first time about 430,000 young people, aged between 17 and 21 years.

On Sunday 21 May, polls will open at 7am and close at 7pm.

Citizens vote with an identity card or passport or driver’s license or the individual health record of all insurance funds. Any “cut” ID cards are acceptable.

Women voters outnumber men, as they make up 51.3% of the electorate, compared to 48.4% of men.
