Four men, who, pretending to be PPC employees, were taking money and jewelry from elderly people, they were arrested, on the Athens – Patras highway, at the height of Elefsina, by Patras Police officers. Regarding the timeline of the case, yesterday morning the four defendants went to a man’s house in Patras pretending to be PPC employees they removed the amount of money of 8,500 euros.
Immediately after, a police operation was organized and the men of the Patras Police spotted the defendants driving a car at the height of Elefsina. In the search that followed, both in the arrested persons and in the car, the police officers found the stolen amount of 8,500 euros.
According to the police, from the investigation carried out by the Patras Security, it emerged that the three arrested had committed two more thefts and a robbery in Achaia and Volos, obtaining a total of 6,000 euros.
As for the mode of action of the defendants, they, according to the police, first rented cars from a rental company in Attica, then located mainly elderly people, entered their homes, in areas of Attica and pretended to be the employees of D.E. Or, money and jewelry were taken from them by the method of employment.
The arrested persons were taken to the prosecutor of First Instance of Patras, while the police investigations are ongoing, for their possible involvement in other similar crimes.
