Attiki: Intervention of the Prosecutor’s Office for a complaint of abuse of a child with autism by a physiotherapist

by

The intervention of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office was provoked by a complaint for brutal abuse of a minor child by an employee in a private Center for children with autism.

Already by order of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, the Juvenile Protection Sub-Directorate is conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident, which allegedly took place in June 2019. For what happened then, the director of the Center complained to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office yesterday, which shows the structure worker, physiotherapist, hitting and kicking the minor in the face, while the other children continue their activities.

The director allegedly testified that after the incident the physiotherapist had voluntarily left his job and that she herself had told him not to work with children again. However, the witness, as she claims, learned that the said physiotherapist got a job again in a center with children with special needs and so decided to report the 2019 incident.

The preliminary investigation carried out under the supervision of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, aims to check the complaint and identify the crimes that have been committed.
