New Democracy MP Filippos Fortomas described his adventure with the coronavirus to SKAI, who was even intubated while he was double-vaccinated.

Mr. Fortomas stated that he is recovering after 16 days of hospitalization and that his adventure had a happy ending thanks to the vaccine.

“I did not have time to take the third dose. I had done AstraZeneca “, he explained and said that he had planned the third dose at the end of December, but he was caught by the virus.

“I was stuck before December 25 and so I stayed home with some symptoms. On the fourth day of illness, Sunday, I had severe symptoms of shortness of breath and on Monday I was diagnosed with pneumonia. “After consulting the doctor, I went to the hospital and was treated.”

The MP remained in a single bed for two days, as he said, and after a severe drop in oxygen he entered the ICU.

“It simply came to our notice then. I stayed intubated for one day, but I stayed in the ICU for two days. I stayed in the hospital for another 12 days. We are talking about a complete suppression of the organism. ”

Describing his brief experience at the ICU, he said: “You see the other patients. “You see how close you are to more difficult situations.”

In closing, he wanted to send a message that everyone should be vaccinated in order to avoid more severe consequences and to cope better.

“There are patients who are still intubated and suffering because they did not have a vaccine,” he said.
