The fact that he is ashamed of the way he spoke to his mother was emphasized by the tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas, regarding his outburst of anger towards his mother during a match against the Russian Daniil Medvedev in Rome.

“I am ashamed that I spoke to my mother like that. At that moment, however, I had lost the ball mentally in the match. I did not expect that my opponent would fight so much, that he would give such a good “performance” in the field. I felt like I was being stung when I was playing. And it was the last thing I wanted, on top of what was already there,” he emphasized, speaking to SDNA.

It is recalled that the Greek tennis player became furious with his mother because she spoke to him in Russian, the native language of his opponent.

“It was a bit difficult to keep my cool at the time, although in big races, even though I’ve lost my cool at times, I’ve improved a lot on that lately,” he explains.

“Watching the video, I don’t think what happened is a good example for the children and the rest of the world. I believe the mother’s role is to stay out of coaching and not be given the opportunity to do that. In my case, though, my mother is knowledgeable and knows tennis, so it’s a little different. I hope this never happens again, because it is definitely not professional behavior. The next time I might come to such a point, I’ll put this all through my mind before I say anything.”
