Police officers of the immigration management department of the Directorate of Foreigners of Thessaloniki arrested two men, aged 40 and 45
Two foreigners, aged 40 and 45, were arrested yesterday morning for illegal transportation of foreigners by the police officers of the immigration management department of the Directorate of Foreigners in Thessaloniki.
Specifically, on the Old Kavala-Thessaloniki National Highway at the height of Kerdyllia, they spotted a van, which clearly had fake license plates, while the movement of a passenger car, which was acting as a vanguard, in order to control the route for any police checks, was also detected.
The two vehicles were stopped in order to carry out a check, during which six foreigners who lacked the necessary travel documents were found inside the cargo area of the truck.
For the case, the two vehicles, two mobile phones, as well as the pair of fake license plates were confiscated.
The two arrested, drivers of the vehicles, with the case filed against them by police officers of the Mygdonia Immigration Management Department, will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
