Sotheby’s and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) join forces in a special auction of rare American creations of different time periods and styles.
The auction will highlight pivotal moments in American fashion and apparel and accessories that have influenced the industry globally.
Among the creations that will be for sale are an array of iconic designs, couture pieces, red carpet looks, and streetwear, donated by CFDA members and collectors of American fashion, reports the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Sotheby’s is holding the auction from November 27 to December 12, in conjunction with the New York Luxury Goods Week event. It is unknown if there will be a physical presence at the auction, although it has been confirmed that online bidding will be possible.
All proceeds from the auction will go to the CFDA Foundation, an organization that supports the next generation of designers through scholarships and mentorship.
