It starts today Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 10:00, the submission of electronic applications of beneficiaries and providers for their participation in the social tourism program for workers-unemployed for the period 2023-2024 of the Public Employment Service (DYPA).

As stated in a related announcement, for the first time the program will start one month earlier, on 1 July 2023, instead of August 1, 2023 and will concern 300,000 checks, with a total budget of 35 million euros.

The check, with which the participation process is carried out, is a unique number for each beneficiary and each beneficiary separately.

Beneficiaries-beneficiaries can carry out up to six nights in a tourist accommodation they choose from the DYPA “Register of Providers”, after their direct consultation with the provider, with little private participation.

Especially, for accommodation in Leros, Lesbos, Chios, Kos and in the prefecture of Evros, up to 10 nights can be made, with zero private participationwhile in the accommodations of the Municipalities of Istiaea-Edipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Ag.Anna of North Evia and the Municipality of Samos, up to 12 nights can be spent completely free of charge.

Subsidized prices remain increased by 20% cfor the peak month of August, just like last year. In addition, for the first time, they are increased by 20% during the periods of Christmas (from 15/12/2023 to 14/01/2024) and Easter (from 26/04/2024 to 12/05/2024). The increase is valid all year round for accommodation in North Evia and Samos.

In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidised. The participation of the general category of beneficiaries amounts to 25% and those with many children to 20%. For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are available free of charge.

In this year’s program, the categories of beneficiaries are expanded, while vulnerable groups are strengthened, as points are provided for people with disabilities and single parents.

Beneficiaries are:

  • employees with a dependent employment relationship under private law at the end of the deadline for submitting applications or
  • insured in the e-EFKA in their professional category with contributions in favor of the unemployment branch of the DYPA at any time between 01/01/2022 and the day before the application deadline or
  • unemployed with a continuous unemployment period of at least three months on the application deadline.

Beneficiaries’ income of all categories must not exceed 30,000 euros, except for the long-term unemployed, who, if single, must have an income of up to 16,000 euros, up to 24,000 euros, if married, plus 3,000 euros per child or, if are single parents up to 27,000 euros, increased by 3,000 euros per child, after the first.

Applications will be submitted exclusively online, through the Unified Digital Portal of the Public Administration (gov.gr), with TAXISnet codes, at the online address https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ergasia-kai-asphalise/apozemioseis-kai -parokhes/koinonikos-tourismos.

Specifically, the route is: Home – Work and insurance – Compensation and Benefits – Social Tourism Programs (STP).

The platform will gradually open according to the last digit of the TIN of the concerned beneficiaries until 05/06/2023 at 23:59, when it will remain open for all TIN digits, as follows:

Last digit of VAT number: 5.6 – Application date: 01/06/2023

As pointed out in the announcement, the selection of beneficiaries is based on the scoring of specific criteria (disabled, single parent, number of children, income), in an objective and transparent manner, through the DYPA’s Integrated Information System (IPS).

It is noted that employees and unemployed people who are subsidized for their participation in a social tourism program of any other organization for the same period cannot participate in the program.

The supporting documents related to the conditions of participation or the scoring of the beneficiaries are sought ex officio.

In those cases where supporting documents are required, due to the inability to search ex officio, these are attached to the applications.

Example 1

Family with 2 children choosing 6 nights in a 3-star hotel with breakfast in August:

For accommodation, the cost is divided as follows:

DYPA subsidy: 806.40 euros (2 double rooms X 67.20 euros/day X 6 nights)

Private participation: 96 euros (2 doubles X 8 euros/day X 6 nights)

Example 2

Couple choosing 12 nights in a 4-star hotel with breakfast in Samos in September:

For accommodation, the cost is divided as follows:

DYPA subsidy: 1,036.80 euros (1 double room X 86.40 euros/day X 12 nights)

Private participation: 0 euros

For coastal ferries, the cost is divided as follows:

DYPA ferry subsidy: 111 euros (55.55 euros X 2 people)

Private ferry participation: 55.5 euros (27.75 euros X 2 people)

Overall, the cost is broken down as follows:

Total DYPA subsidy: 1,147.80 euros

Total private participation: 55.5 euros

Providers of the program are tourist accommodation and ferry companies, as defined in the public invitation.

The applications of the interested providers will be submitted exclusively online, through the Unified Digital Portal of the Public Administration (gov.gr), with the codes TAXISnet, at the online address https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ergasia-kai-asphalise/ apozemioseis-kai-parokhes/parohoi-tourismou.

Specifically, the route is: Home – Work and insurance – Compensation and Benefits – Social Tourism Providers.

The submission of applications by providers will be possible from 30/05/2023 to 05/06/2023, regardless of their VAT number.
