The intensive controls carried out throughout the country by the Hellenic Police Services for the implementation of the measures to prevent and limit the spread of the coronavirus continued yesterday.
Yesterday, Thursday, January 13, 53,626 inspections were carried out throughout the country, of which 19,500 at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.
A total of 513 violations were confirmed and 3 arrests were made. At the same time, 21 fines were imposed for violating the anti-smoking law.
Detailed tests and results:
443 violations for not using a mask, etc. related infringements and fines of the equivalent of EUR 300 were imposed, as follows:
147 in Attica,
83 in Thessaloniki,
30 in Epirus,
30 in the Ionian Islands,
24 in Western Greece,
23 in Central Greece,
22 in Central Macedonia,
22 in the Peloponnese,
20 in the North Aegean,
14 in the South Aegean,
10 in Crete,
6 in Thessaly,
6 in Western Macedonia and
6 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 88,768 similar violations have been confirmed and 85,324 administrative fines of 300 euros and 3,444 of 150 euros have been imposed.
70 violations and 3 arrests for rules of operation of shops, private companies, etc. violations of the relevant legislation (prohibition of operation, non-use of mask, percentage of square meter per person, etc.).
In the above cases the following sanctions were imposed for violation of suspension of operation, etc. related infringements of the relevant provisions, namely:
In Western Greece:
- arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to the owner of a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension of operation, for exceeding the opening hours,
- arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to the owner of a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension of operation, for serving 2 customers without the necessary certificates and from 2 violations to customers,
- 11 violations of 300 euros, for non-use of a mask by owners, employees and customers of stores.
In Attica: arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to a store owner, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension, for serving 2 customers without the necessary certificates and from 2 violations to customers.
In Crete:
- 5,300 euros fine to a company, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension of operation, for employment of an employee without a mask and customer service without the necessary certificates.
- In addition, a fine of 600 euros to the customer for not using a mask and lack of the necessary certificates.
In the Ionian Islands:
- 5,000 euros fine to the owner of a store of health interest, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension, for the use of music,
- 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a customer of a store. In addition, 2 offenses for not using a mask by vehicle passengers.
In Central Macedonia:
- 11 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by owners, employees and customers of stores. In addition, 9 offenses for non-use of a mask by vehicle passengers,
- 1 violation in a store of health interest, for not posting a sign of operating rules.
In Thessaloniki:
- 8 violations of 300 euros in stores for not posting a sign of the maximum number of people allowed,
- 2 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by store employees.
In Epirus: 8 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by an employee and customers of stores.
In Eastern Macedonia and Thrace:
– 6 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by owners, employees and customers of stores. In addition, 2 violations, for not using a mask, in a KTEL waiting area,
– 1 violation of 300 euros in a store, for not posting a sign of the maximum number of people allowed.
In Western Macedonia, 3 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by the owner and employees of stores. In addition, 3 violations, for non-use of a mask, by vehicle passengers.
In Thessaly, 3 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by the owner and customers of stores.
In Central Greece, 2 violations of 300 euros for not using a mask, by a store owner and customer.
In the Peloponnese, 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a store employee.
Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 29,457 similar violations have been confirmed and 2,913 people have been arrested.
The inspections continue with undiminished intensity for the protection of public health.
