Minor incidents and tension are taking place outside the Ministry of Education in Maroussi at the moment with the protagonists students and teachers who arrived there with a march in protest of the opening of schools and the protocols for the pandemic.

In an attempt to approach the ministry building, they hurled stones and other objects at the police.

The mass control in the schools prevented the biggest spread of the coronavirus, the Minister of Education and Religions, Niki Kerameos, stated from the floor of the Parliament, answering a topical question of the SYRIZA MP Nikos Filis on the subject of e-learning in schools.

According to Ms. Kerameos, this week the most massive screening in schools took place, with three self-diagnostic tests on 1.6 million students. If we had heard SYRIZA not to open schools, these 31,000 potential cases would have been “circulating carelessly, without having any idea that they are potential actors”. They would have seen at least 10 people each, and so we would have 310,000 potential cases, as Ms. Kerameos noted, according to which, only two school departments, out of a total of over 80,000, are closed due to coronavirus.
