No electricity was a large part of the city of Kilkis on Friday morning from a traffic accident that involved a lorry crashing into a street light pole at the eastern entrance to the city.

At 07:15 in the morning truck -with foreign license plates- ran off the road and crashed into a light pole, at the eastern entrance-exit of Kilkis, at the junction to Argyroupoli and Efkarpia.

The light pole rested on its network cables DEDDEE and the short circuit knocked out one of Kilkis’ three power lines.

A DEDDIE Kilkis crew was immediately dispatched to isolate the damage and to continue the electricity supply of the city as normal, until the damage at the point of the collision is repaired.

35% of the networky of Kilkis was left without power for 45 minutes, while efforts continued to remove the truck and repair the damage to the network.

The movement of vehicles on the national road network and at the junction of the eastern entrance of Kilkis was carried out normally with the presence and coordination of policemen of the Kilkis Traffic Department.
