The singer Yiannis Floriniotis has passed away.

He was 76 years old. He was born in Florina on February 15, 1947 and his real name was Giannis Apostolidis.

He passed away at Sotiria hospital where he was being treated for pulmonary edema.

He was hospitalized for about a week, dealing with very serious health problems and severe emphysema.

He died of cardiac arrest.

He started singing at the age of 14.

Later he found himself in Thessaloniki, where he sang alongside great rebetes, such as Markos Vamvakaris, Yiannis Papaioannou, Giorgos Lavkas, Prodromos Tsaousakis, Theodoros Polykandriotis and with Rita Sakellariou.

In 1970-71, he comes to Athens for the first time.

He works in various centers, singing and dancing and dressed eccentrically.

Wherever he appears, he is a great success, but at the same time he receives strong criticism for his special appearances.

In the discography, he makes his first appearance with the album “Now I Want Now”, which immediately goes gold.
