Members of the criminal organization have been marketing illegal pay-per-view decoders for the past five years
A criminal organization, which was active in the provision of pay-TV services, was dismantled by Patras Police officers, who arrested three people in areas of Attica, while four of their accomplices are still being sought.
In particular, according to the police, from the pre-investigative work of the Patras Police officers, it emerged that the members of the criminal organization have been channeling decoders for illegal retransmission of subscription channels to the market for the past five years, using specialized technical means and illegal software.
According to the police, the members of the criminal organization, having established a clientele of 1,370 people throughout the country, managed to obtain an illegal financial benefit totaling more than 1,233,000 euros, at the same time causing a financial loss to the beneficiary companies, amounting to 6,576,000 euros .
In searches carried out, in the homes of the members of the criminal organization and in their cars, the police officers found 40,966 euros, six set-top boxes, three computers, three mobile phones and a customer management panel.
In addition, according to the police, the men of Patras Security detected a lot of conversations in online applications, related to the action, both between the members of the criminal organization, and between the members and the customers.
Those arrested will be taken to the Athens District Attorney, while the Patras Security continues the investigations into the case.
